3.Friday Night Lights(2006-2011) – Welcome to Dillon Texas, where football is everything. This small town is used to show American football culture and the pressure high school athletes face. This pressure is not always to do with football, as the show focuses on the issues of economic inequality, racism, and family separation. The staple characters of the show are, Coach Eric Taylor, Tami Taylor, Julie Taylor, Buddy Garrity, Matt Saracen, Tim Riggins, Billy Riggins, Smash Williams, Jason Street and then in seasons four and five Luke, Vince, Jessica, Becky and others. All of these characters had their own story line which tied into the bigger picture that is Friday Night Lights. This is one of the shows for guys, especially athletes that is able to draw emotion from the viewer. After watching you will want to be as cool as Riggins while still being as a good of a man as Coach Taylor. The show ran for five seasons, but if Degrassi can continue to get airtime, then Friday Night Lights never should have been cancelled.

2.Arrested Development(2003-2006) – This show focuses on the formerly wealthy Bluth Family and the tension that is bred between family members. This tension is fueled by their loss of money, and long lasting sibling rivalries. Arrested development was a bit ahead of its time, as it was filmed differently than other sitcoms at the time. There was on many occasions hand-held cameras and stops in filming for monologues similar to Modern Family today. The show is definitely the top comedy that died to too soon. The laughs provided by Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Jason Bateman and David Cross will keep you glued to the screen if you have yet to watch.
