One of the problems job-hunters come across most often is that of showing relevant work experience. Early on in our working lives, we have all done jobs we weren’t proud of. Be it fast food, retail, server, dishwasher, gas station attendee, or so on – we did it because it was convenient, paid for school or helped make rent. When it comes time to make the leap towards a career job or a job in a new field, we are faced with the question of how to make that work count. Herein is the solution: all work experience is relevant work experience. The trick is in how you sell it to the potential employer. Some people feel embarrassed talking about their work at McDonald’s when they were seventeen. Rather than glossing over a past experience, you should try to turn every past opportunity (work or otherwise) into a strength. Here are a few tips on how you can make past experiences stand out…
