There are few arguments that men will take to the death: Kobe vs. Lebron, Crosby vs. Ovechkin, Jakub vs. Edward (if you like twilight, get out of the CAVE) and lastly Xbox 360 vs. PS3. Men take a couple things very seriously, their careers, their food, and yea you guessed it, their video games. When a man steps into the world of video games it is his way of taking a break from the real world, either to shoot zombies, sack Peyton Manning, or become a God of War. When choosing a between Xbox 360 and PS3 there are a couple major questions every guy has to ask:

  • Which system has better graphics?
  • Which system has better games?
  • Which system has better online game-play?
  • Which System serves me better aside from video games

After Owning both systems for around two years, I am going to give you a real guys breakdown, I won’t tell you which one has a better Neronet Processor, but I will tell which one will piss you off the least.

Graphics: I was always under the impression that the graphics were about the same on both systems but a quick look at the two beside each other reveals that Xbox 360 gets the nod here.

Game Library: 360 has a ton of exclusives that are popular and cannot be ignored. Gears of War, Halo, Fable, Forza Motorsport etc. Likewise, PS3 has Killzone, Uncharted, Little Big Planet. As for which console has a better library, it really depends on the person. 360 has a lot of shooters, and sports titles, which is why I can see it being more popular here. PS3 has more Role Playing or story driven titles. There’s a lot more to gaming than the Halos and Battlefields. I personally give  PS3 the nod here.

Online: PSN is free, Xbox costs money. Call me cheap, but this matters to me, I’ve already bought the system and I already pay my internet bill; why should I pay to play online? PS3 is not the clear cut winner, everyone who owns a PS3 remembers when the PSN was hacked by a 16 year old. Here I give the nod to PS3

Other Aspects: I sit at 6’1 and when it comes to the controller, I prefer the Xbox 360, its meatier and I don’t feel like my hands are going to eat the controller, which tends to be the case with the PS3. When it comes to watching movies, PS3 is the hands down winner with the built in Blu-Ray player. In terms of overall user friendliness, I also have to give PS3 the nod, its simple and allows for many custom themes.

And the Winner is…. PS3

Even with the superior graphics and game library, after owning both I find myself still on the side of PS3. I know there is going to be debate on this one, so post away in the comments section.

Although I'm sitting in the PS3 camp myself, 360 has a ton of exclusives that are popular and cannot be ignored. Gears of War, Fable, Forza Motorsport etc. Likewise, PS3 has Killzone, Uncharted, Little Big Planet. As for which console has a better library, it really depends on the person. 360 has a lot of shooters, and sports titles, which is why I can see it being more popular here. PS3 has more Role Playing or story driven titles which is what sells better in the Asian markets. There's a lot more to gaming than the Halos and Battlefields.

Yes the PS3 online is free which is why I prefer it, but you cant deny that the 360 online community is much larger in North America.

While the 360's graphics are a tad better, Its not noticeable enough to make a difference. There are other things you can compare, like the initial costs of the consoles, Kinect vs Move, backwards compatibility (believe it or not some people really care about this).

Anyways enough of me sounding like a nerd. Keep it up. I love the website so far.

You ignored every single PS3 exclusive (which there are much more of than Xbox 360 exclusives) and just talked about Halo. You clearly don't play many games.

some PS3 exclusives: LBP, Uncharted, Killzone, Gran Turismo, MAG, God of War, Infamous, Heavy Rain, Resistance
