1.Scratching Your Scalp When You Wash Your Hair
I’m going to assume that about 90% of men have made this mistake countless times. Why? Because it feels like the right thing to do! Sadly, it is a major mistake. Scratching weakens the hair follicles and can cause irritation. Massaging your scalp during shampooing actually promotes circulation which kick starts healthy hair growth.
2.Thinking a Professional Hair Cut is the Same as a $10 One
When it comes to your hair, you ultimately get what you pay for. If want a very specific cut, you are best to search out an actual Barber Shop (a place that specializes in men’s haircuts). You shouldn’t have to spend massive amounts of money to get the cut you desire. Realistically it shouldn’t be over $50! Cuts in the $20-$30 range will be suitable and drastically better than those around $10.
3.Not Rinsing the Shampoo Out Entirely
Shampoo is intended to suck all the dirt and oil out of your hair. If you don’t rinse thoroughly, you will have leftover shampoo in your hair. This leftover shampoo will actually attract dirt and cause your hair to get dirtier faster.
4.Not Having the Necessities
If you want to control your hair and style it a certain way you must have the necessary equipment. There are a few items every guy should have in his bathroom. First, is a blow-dryer. Nothing to0 fancy, just a stock one will do. This will allow to quickly give your hair some shape before you put product into it. Second, is an adequate comb/brush. This will allow you to style your hair in unique ways with tonnes of control. Last, you need the right type of hair product for your hair style. Ask the barber whether you should use hair spray, gel or wax.
5.Using Too Much Product
This is a simple one to correct. If your hair cannot move 10 minutes after you have placed product into it then it’s TOO MUCH. Men with short spikey hair fall victim to this mistake the most.
6.Not Allowing Your Hair to Dry Enough Before Putting Product Into it
Placing product into your hair while it is still wet is a common mistake men make. The water still in your hair will actually dilute the product and cause it to run through your hair. Therefore, making it less effective. Your hair should be almost dry before you begin styling with product. This will give you more control of your hairstyle!
